Caydyn's neurologist appointment

We had Caydyn's appointment with the pediatric neurologist a few weeks back.

After a long evaluation and consult with the neurologist, Caydyn will be having an EEG and a MRI scan done on December 22nd.

The neurologist believes that Caydyn is having neurological seizures OR he may have a tumor that is causing the issues. The scans should give us more answers.

A little background...
Around 1 year of age Caydyn was waking through the night, sitting up and rocking/banging his head into the back of his crib.
This continued...around 19 months, after 4 ear infections, we were referred to an ENT. Right before his 2nd birthday, he had both ears tubed and his adenoids removed.
We THOUGHT that from this, the rocking/banging his head would improve and he would stop. We also thought his speech would begin to improve.

After his tubes were in...he started waking through the night banging his head very hard into his pillow or the mattress of his toddler bed. It began with him just banging to fall asleep. Then as the weeks went on, he began waking several times through the night banging his head. Beginning around the middle of October, he began waking anywhere from 1-4 hours a night banging his head very hard and also making a "ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh" noise along with the banging.

He also began banging his head and rocking during any drowsy periods through the day...while we were in the car and he would get sleepy or just sitting on the couch and he would get a little drowsy.

We are at the point now where he is rocking/head banging half the night.

To watch and hear him doing this is very disturbing and we sought out a pediatric neurologist to have more testing done.

A few other red flags: he doesn't have any coordination, he falls and trips often...

His speech and the head banging never really crossed my mind that they could be linked. I just never thought about it.

So, as you can imagine, I'm a total mess just THINKING about all of this. My perfect little boy....I do not want anything to be wrong, but we must take these next steps.

Please say a little prayer for Caydyn. I'll update our blog as we know more information.

Our little boy...perfect in every way.
